Type II Diabetes Diet
One of the keys to a type II diabetes diet is to have meal plans. Create a routine for eating meals at regular times, and stick with it as closely as possible. Choose healthy foods, of which there is a variety, and have the proper amount at each meal.The American Diabetes Association has recommended that 60-70% of calories be from carbohydrates. Some research, on the other hand, claims that 40% is a better diabetic diet plan. High fiber content within the carbohydrates chosen is suggested to be good. Sucrose (table sugar) may be substituted for other carbohydrates, or even added to a meal plan if covered by insulin intake. Fructose (sugar found in fruits) is not recommended as a sweetener.

Whole wheat bread, rye bread, brown rice, potatoes, bagels, pita breads, corn tortillas, pretzels, salad, cucumbers, spinach, broccoli, romaine lettuce, carrots, peppers, oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, milk, yogurt, eggs, fish and poultry without skin.
